Charlie is a dutiful twelve year old boy who always keeps in mind other’s best interest.  He works hard to help support his mother after his father’s money stops.  As the oldest son of Mrs. Enslow, he has a lot of responsibility on his shoulders.  He handles it well with God’s help.

 

Fanny works hard for her mother and siblings. The fifteen year old believes in God with devotion, attends church weekly, prays, follows the Word, and struggles to be good all the time.  She leaves her home to find work.  This is hard for her, but she makes the best of the situation and becomes a maid for a wealthy family. 

 

Mrs. Elisa Clapps is a twenty-four year old widow.  She is very kind and thoughtful; and although she is not wealthy, she perseveres and trusts God.
